Triangle ABC is similar to ADE, use proportions to solve for X.
Note: X is from B~D.
I don't know why but I keep getting 3.2 for X, is that correct?
The reason I'm not sure if thats correct is because the 3rd question involving this figure asks what's the area, and when I try to find the hypotenuse I get a number that looks like it probably wouldn't be the answer.
Thanks!

Question 244584: If the ratio of boys to girls in a class is 3 to 8, will the ratio of boys to girls stay the same, become greater or become lesser if 2 boys and 2 girls leave the class. Justify your answer.
This is what I answered, I just don't think it is correct:
The ratio will stay the same because you are removing the same amount of both girls and boys out of the class. Therefore, the ratio doesn't change because even though it diminishes the class by 4 students, the proportion of boys to girls doesn't change.
