Question 67903: Looking for help on solving proportion problem (6th grade math) 1.2/9 = c/1.5 . How do you solve this when you have mixed number? Another example we WERE able to solve is 3/4 = 12/b by cross cancelling (i.e., 4x12=3xb, 48=3b, 48/3=3b/3, 16=b. We just cannot figure out how to do this with a numerator that is a decimal???
thank you so much for any assistance you can give.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You solve this the same way you solved the other one:
1.2%2F9=c%2F1.5
1.2%2A1.5=9c
1.8=9c
1.8%2F9=9c%2F9
highlight%28.2=c%29
Happy Calculating!!!!
