An example of a ratio question is: Suppose you are 5 ft tall, and the tree was 10 ft tall. What is the ratio of your height to the tree's height?
your height to the tree's height is 5:10, and you can reduce ratios just as you can reduce fractions, so it reduces to 1:2.

Now for your question. The length to the width is 8:5, and that can't be reduced, so that's your answer.
