Question 413465: The school bus can carry 16 adults or 44 children. If there are already 4 adults and 12 children ob the bus, How many more children can the bus carry? Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The problem is saying that 16 adults weigh the same as 44 children,
and either would equal a fully loaded bus.
There are 4 adults on the bus, and that would be of
a fully loaded bus.
There are 12 children on the bus, and that would be
of a fully loaded bus.
I can add these fractions to get of a
fully loaded bus
This is actually the same as if there were 23 children on the bus,
so the bus can carry more children.
