You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%28z%29%2F%28-6%29=%28x%2By%29%2F%28x-y%29 Start with the given equation.

z%28x-y%29=-6%28x%2By%29 Cross multiply

zx-zy=-6x-6y Distribute.

zx-zy%2B6x=-6y Add 6x to both sides.

zx%2B6x=-6y%2Bzy Add zy to both sides.

x%28z%2B6%29=y%28-6%2Bz%29 Factor out the GCF 'x' from the left side. Factor out the GCF 'y' from the right side.

%28x%28z%2B6%29%29%2Fy=-6%2Bz Divide both sides by 'y'.

x%2Fy=%28-6%2Bz%29%2F%28z%2B6%29 Divide both sides by z%2B6.

x%2Fy=%28z-6%29%2F%28z%2B6%29 Rearrange the terms.

So the ratio of x to y is %28z-6%29%2F%28z%2B6%29
