You can put this solution on YOUR website! Add up the number of thirds in 8 and 1/3
One has three thirds in it, right?
Eight has eight times as many or 8 X 3 = 24
So eight has 24/3 in it

There are four fourths in one
so there are three times that or 12 fourths in three
so three has 12/4 in it

How many thirds are in 8 and 1/3?
We decided there are 24/3 in 8, so add one more
that means there are 25/3 in 8 and 1/3

We decided there are 12/4 in 3, so add 3 more
There are 15/4 in 3 and 3/4

Now divide 25/3 by 15/4 like the problem says
