Question 293641: Another ratio related to heart health is the ratio of LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol. The optimal ratio of LDL to HDL is below 3. If a patient's total cholesteral is 168 and HDL is 44, is the ratio optimal? Explain.
Answer by brucewill(101) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Since the total is 168, and HDL is 44, I assume the LDL is the remainder (124).
The formula is for LDL/HDL, which is 44/124, or 2.8181. Since this value is below 3, it qualifies as "optiomal".
However, I am only assuming everything here; I don't know much about medicine.
