You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7+3=10
820/10=82
82*7=574 children
82*3=246 adults

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I can say:
(children)/(adults) = 7/3
I can also say:
(children)/(children + adults) = 7/(7 +3)
and
(adults)/(children + adults) = 3/(7 + 3)
-------------------
I'm told that children + adults = 820
therefore
c+%2F+820+=+7%2F10
and
a+%2F+820+=+3%2F10
---------------
c+=+%287%2F10%29%2A820
c=+574
and
a+=+%283%2F10%29%2A820
a+=+246
There are 574 children
check answer:
a+%2B+c+=+246+%2B+574
a+%2B+c+=+820
OK
