Newtons law of cooling. The change in temperature of an object over time t, denoted T', varies directly with the difference between the temperature of the object T and the temperature of the surrounding environment, or ambient temperature, A. Letting -k represent the constant of variation for a positive value of k. Write the equation to represent newtons law of cooling.

Question 694401: Project help please. I do not understand this. Please explain.
Using calculus and the equation: T'=-k(T-A), a team determined the temperature of an object after time t in minutes is given by the formula: T(t)=A+(T0-A)e^-kt. The 0 by T is on the bottom of T. The T0 represents the temperature at a time t=0. Verify that the constant of variation can be found using the formula: k=1/t1 ln(T1-A/T0-A). The numbers behind the T's are little and at the bottom. Where T1 represents the temperature at some later time t1. Now verify that tn, n is little and on bottom, the time the engine stopped running at a normal operating temperature is given by : tn=1/k ln(Tn-A/T0-A), where Tn represents the normal operating temperature of the engine. Again the numbers and letters after t and T are little and on bottom.

Question 694510: I had a test of 46 questions: one question equaled 4 points, a second question had 5 parts worth 2 points each-got 2 wrong earning 6 points, a third question had 8 parts worth 2 points-earned 18 points
Of th remaining 43 questions,20 questions counted as 1 point- got 18 right and each-earned 18 points,of the remaining 23 questions-got 16 right counting 2 points each and earned 32 points
When I calculated how my grade added up to a 78, I realized that it was simply added as 18+32+4+6+18=78 score.
However, if I added in the 2-2 points questions I got wrong that would equal 4 additional points + the 7-2 point questions i got wrong that would be an additional 14 points + the additional 2-1 point questions I got wrong that would equal 2, It would be only 98 out of 100 (78+4+14+2=98).
If I had solved it my way I would have added the correct questions #44 equaling 4 points, #45 equaling 6 points and #46 equaling 18 points (14+6+4=28)and did the following calculation:
(1) 100%-28% = 72% of highest score remaining
(2) 72%/43 questions = 1.67 points per question
(3) 1.67 *34 = 57.8
(4) 57.8% + 28 = 86% score
Now I realize that if I tested the 100% challenge by calculating the 1.67 * 9 of the 43 question portion I got wrong, the totaling 15.03 would mean that the percent total would come to - 58 + 28 + 15 = 101
But couldnt we make #44 a 3 point question instead of a 4 point question bringing the totals to
57.8 + 27% + 15.03 totaling 99.83 = 100 rounded.
Even if it was decided to take the 86 down to an 85 to even things out would be fine with me. I'll take a 85(b) over a 78(c) anyday!
Questions:
Can I be graded on a 98 percentile? Seems a bit manipulated.
Is there a set way of calculating test scores NYS and would you know where I could look it up?
Do you have any advice on how to approach the situation? Those 2 point would mean the difference between a grade C and a grade B especially since the lowest grade would be moved up a grade.
Even though it could be decided to give different points for different parts of a test, should each part total to 100%.
How would you calculate this test if you using initial point system givin above to balance out the 100% high score.
How do I calculate (i.e. 32 is what percent of 100?) Cant seem to remember.
Please help!
