==> 3x - 8*3 + 8*x = 53


==> 3x - 24 + 8x = 53

==> 11x - 24 = 53

Add 24 on both sides...


==> 11x - 24 + 24 = 53 + 24


==> 11x = 77

Divide both sides by 11


==> +11x%2F11+=+77%2F11


==> x = 7, which is the required solution.
