Question 776646: The indicator on the oil tank in my home indicated that the tank was one-eighth full. After a truck delivered 240 gallons of oil, the indicator showed that the tank was half full . What is the capacity of the oil tank, in gallons? Answer by 1998Baby(63) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 4/8ths would be a half tank.
if you had 1/8th full, that means 240 gallons used up 3/8ths.
you do 240/3=80
then you do 80*8 and you get 640 gallons of oil to fill up your tank.
