Question 723748: This is a simple math problem, I apologize. But I am having trouble finishing 3 digit by 3 digit multiplication problems, for example:
538*342. I, like most folks start with 538 *2. 8*2 is 16 carry the one over to the tens place. 3*2 is 6 plus the 1 is 7. 5*2 is 10. So 538*2 is 1076. 538 *4. 4*8 is 32 carry the 3 and put it above the tens place. 3*4 is 12 plus 3 is 15.put the 1 above the 5. 5*4 is 20 + 1 is 21. 538*4 is 2152. I get lost when it come to the hundreds place in 538*342. What do I do with the 3 in the hundreds place?
