x^2-1/2x=1/3

x^2 - (1/2)x - (1/3) = 0
Use the Quadratic Formula.
x = [-b +- sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/(2a)

sqrt%28%28x+-+1%2F4%29%5E2%29+=+_%2B-sqrt%2819%2F48%29 ------ Taking the square root of both sides

x+-+1%2F4+=+_%2B-sqrt%2819%2F48%29

x+=+1%2F4+%2B-+sqrt%2819%2F48%29

You should be able to calculate the two roots now!!
