12x=24 divide both sides by 12 x=24/12=2

Hi, my name is Aaron I am in 10th grade and im in honors trig/pre-calc. Start by isolating x... What would you have to do to make x stand by itself? All you have to do is divide both sides by 12 using the division p.o.e.

so
x=2
now plug x=2
back in to the original equation for x, to check.
12(2)=24
24=24 since this is true we know x equals 2
