You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3(4y-1)=16y+5

3(4y)-3(1)=16y+5 ... Distribute

12y - 3 = 16y + 5 ... Multiply

I'll let you take it from here.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You do a distributive to the first member of the equation: 12y-3=16y+5, so you put the "xs" in one member and the independient terms in the other, so: 4y=8, dividing each members by 4, you have the result: y=2
