Let the smaller number = +n+
The larger number = +n+%2B+1+
given:
+2n+=+3%2A%28+n+%2B+1+%29+-+18+
+2n+=+3n+%2B+3+-+18+
+2n+=+3n+-+15+
Subtract +2n+ from both sides
+0+=+n+-+15+
+n+=+15+
+n+%2B+1+=+16+
The numbers are 15 and 16
