Painting of the house is 1 job for each of them.
sally does it in 4 hours
so she does 1/4 of the job in 1 hour.
..
John does the job in 6 hours
so he does 1/6 of the job in 1 hour
.
together they do 1/6 +1/4 of the job in 1 hour.
=5/12
5/12 of job they do in 1 hour.
1 job they do in 12 /5 hours
=2.4 hours
