Question 1159177: Salutations! As of 5/14/20, I am a seventh-grade student, currently in the e-learning classes. I need math advice. Some of my friends and acquaintances take honor math classes, and solve math problems that are hard enough to make me puzzled, in such an effortless manner. I am astonished how they solve math problems so easily, it even makes me sort of jealous. My math grades are not the best, they are 2s (my school uses a 0-4 grading scale system, so basically a C). I am barely passing by the skin of my teeth! And either it's luck or maybe the teacher feels bad for me. My point is- how can I improve my grades once and for all? I want perfect grades for the upcoming school year, I want to have math honors for high school. My one big dream is to attend Princeton University, but my grades aren't helping. Will my seventh-grade year performance affect my chances in attending Princeton? What if I get perfect grades for the rest of middle school and high school? Will I be able to attend Princeton?
Signed, a fellow student in need of some math advice.
P.S., sorry my question was so long. I hope you can give me some advice. Have a great day/night!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there! If you're struggling with math, I would suggest that you go to Khan Academy to do some extra studying on your own. There are also free math textbooks available online that may help. Additionally, your teachers at school are probably more than willing to help explain concepts that are difficult for you to grasp.
On a more general note, middle school grades have essentially no effect on college admissions. Because you are so young, I would advise you to not worry so much about college just yet, though your ambition is admirable. There is no "formula" for getting perfect grades (especially in middle school!), and the best thing you can do is to continue to do your best into your schoolwork. It is also important to remember that colleges do not only look at grades; they will also look at your exam scores, extracurricular activities, etc.
I hope this helps!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
As an option, you may consider to visit THIS forum at www.algebra.com regularly.
Come with your problems - we, the tutors at this forum, will be happy to teach/to consult you.
The major thing is to do it REGULARLY, to write your problems/assignments in a clear way, to report about
your difficulties and/or your progress regularly, and to maintain proper communication.
We, the tutors, provide our service at the free of charge basis.
Another mandatory thing is to do simple assignments and/or simple parts of assignments ON YOUR OWN.
You may expect that we, the tutors (and I personally) will provide all necessary explanations, guiding advises,
sometimes (and regularly) full solutions to the problems as your TEMPLATES/samples, but then you will solve
the TWIN problems ON YOUR OWN.
What you should not expect, is that we, the tutors, will work INSTEAD of you.
If you would like to have my personal attention, then sign each your assignment/request, which you post to the forum,
by your name and then look for my responses.
At this forum/site there is a huge amount of written lessons practically on each and every topic of the school Math,
so I can provide this reading to you, lesson by lesson and/or topic by topic.
We may start right now, from the tomorrow. You have a summer ahead, so we can try to cover your Math for previous years or to go forward.
Again, we can start, and there is no any risk from your side // as well as there are no any obligations from my side.
We can start and will look what will happen.
You can stop your exercises at any time, as well as I can stop, from my side,
if I see that the seeds of knowledge go in non-appropriate soil.

I also have a couple of questions to you.
Did you visit this forum before, and was it useful to you ?
If you visited this forum before, can you refer to your posts, by referring to their ID numbers ?
