Question 1153696: A regular hexagon has sides of length 8cm. Find the perpendicular distance between two opposite faces.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Draw this and see six equilateral triangles around the center.
the distance from the center to the side is half the answer.
that is part of a 30-60-90 triangle where the side opposite 30 is 4 cm.
That makes the side from the center to the face 4 sqrt(3) cm
The answer is then 8 sqrt(3) cm
