Multiply both sides by
That means there is

Let = time in days for B to finish:
It will take B 8 days to finish the job working alone
In 4 days A completed of the job; at the same time B completed = of the job,
so working together 4 days, our workers A and B completed = = of the job.
Hence, of the job remained to be done.
