You can put this solution on YOUR website!

2+-+ax+=+-8 assuming a%3C%3E0 (note, if a=0 then ax=0 and there will be no solution)
so, you have
2+-+ax+=+-8
2+-+ax%2Bax+=+ax-8
2=+ax-8
2%2B8=+ax-8%2B8
2%2B8=+ax
10=+ax
x=10%2Fa where a%3C%3E0

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2 - ax = -8
add ax to both sides of the equation and add 8 to both sides of the equation to get:
2 + 8 = ax
combine like terms to get:
10 = ax
divide both sides of the equation by a to get:
10/a = x
that's your solution.
a can't be equal to 0 because you would then get a division by 0 which is undefined.
a can be any number.
the value of x will change depending on the value of a.

if you graphed this equation, it would look like this:

$$$

you can see that there is an asymptote at a = 0.

the desmos calculator actually lets you graph as x = 10/a and does it correctly.
other calculators won't.
in most of those cases, you would have to set y = x and x = a and make your equation y = 10/x rather than x = 10/a.
i graphed both to show you that they generate the identical graph in desmos.
