You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6x plus 3 equals 45
----
6x + 3 = 45
---
Subtract 3 from both sides to get:
6x = 42
---
Divide both sides by 6 to get:
x = 7
------------

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

6x plus 3 equals 45 means
6x%2B3=45....solve for x; means isolate x on one side of equal sign
6x%2B3-3=45-3
6x=42......both sides divide by 6
6x%2F6=42%2F6
x=7

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
" No job too big, no job too small."
+6x+%2B+3+=+45+
I want to get the term with the unknown in
it on one side by itself
To do this, I subtract +3+ from both sides
-----------------------------------------
+6x+%2B+3+=+45+
+-3+=+-3+
-----------------
+6x+%2B+0+=+45+-+3+
+6x+=+42+
Now divide both sides by +6+
+%28+6x+%29+%2F+6+=+42%2F6+
+x+=+7+ answer
----------------------------
Hope this helps. Just remember, whatever
you do to one side, you must do the same
thing to the other side.
That way, you keep both sides equal
