You can move the decimal point as many places to the left as wanted, depending on
what number times a power of ten you want to end up with.
For example:
6743(10^4) (move decimal 4 places to the left)
674.3(10^5)(move decimal 5 places to the left)
67.43(10^6)(move decimal 6 places to the left)
6.743(10^7)(move decimal 7 places to the left)
I believe the 4th example would be the choice of most because you want to end up working with a number that is less than 10.
