Question 628769: The age of a man is 4 times the sum of the ages of his three children and in 8 years it will be twice the sum. What is the present age of the man? Answer by graphmatics(170) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x be the age of the man. Let y be the sum of the ages of the 3 children. Then
x=4y
x+8=2*(y+3*8)
x-4y=0
x-2y=-8+48
We solve this system
