SOLUTION: y^2 - 16y - 12x + 40 = 0 i know that this is a parabola, i moved 40 and y^2 and -16y to the right. im not so sure what to do next. thanks in advance!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I would leave only the y's on one side, and that side would be the "incomplete square" that I want to complete.
y%5E2-16y-12x%2B40=0 --> y%5E2-16y=12x-40 --> y%5E2-16y%2B64=12x-40%2B64 -->
OOPS! I had a mistake (corrected in this edited version)
y%5E2-16y%2B64=12x-40%2B64 --> %28y-8%29%5E2=12x%2B24 --> 12x=%28y-8%29%5E2-24 --> x=%281%2F12%29%28y-8%29%5E2-24%2F3 --> x=%281%2F12%29%28y-8%29%5E2-8
