You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let a = number of necklaces
Let b = number of bracelets
given:
(1) a+%2B+b+=+120+
(2) +14a+%2B+5b+=+1230+
----------------
Multiply both sides of (1) by 5
and subtract (1) from (2)
(2) +14a+%2B+5b+=+1230+
(1) -5a+-+5b+=+-600+
+9a+=+630+
+a+=+70+
and
(1) a+%2B+b+=+120+
+b+=+120+-+70+
+b+=+50+
Don bought 70 necklaces and 50 bracelets
check:
(2) +14a+%2B+5b+=+1230+
(2) +14%2A70+%2B+5%2A50+=+1230+
+980+%2B+250+=+1230+
+1230+=+1230+
OK
