Question 394144: If y=2x-3 is graphed on {x: -2 < x < 5}, what are the coordinates of the right endpoint of the graph? (Show Your Solution) Answer by Edwin McCravy(20054) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If y=2x-3 is graphed on {x: -2 < x < 5}, what are the coordinates of the right endpoint of the graph? (Show Your Solution)
Since {x: -2 < x < 5}, we find the right endpoint by
substituting the largest possible value x can have for x, which is 5
into the equation
y = 2x - 3
for x, getting
y = 2(5) - 3
y = 10 - 3
y = 7
and using that largest value of 5 for the x-coordinate and the 7 that
you got for y for the y-coordinate. So it's (5,7).
Answer: The endpoint on the right is the point (5,7) as you see on the
above graph.
