You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The money from sales of university tickets was twice the money from sales of primary tickets; and the price of a university ticket was four times the cost of a primary ticket. That means the number of primary tickets sold was twice the number of university tickets. Then the given information tells us

x = # of university tickets
2(x) = 2x = # of primary tickets
4(2x) = 8x = # of secondary tickets

The total price of the tickets sold was 22000:

400%28x%29%2B200%288x%29%2B100%282x%29+=+2200x+=+22000
x+=+22000%2F2200+=+10

So the numbers of tickets sold were
x = 10 university tickets
2x = 20 primary tickets
8x = 80 secondary tickets

CHECK:
10(400)+20(100)+80(200) = 4000+2000+16000 = 22000

Note the answer to the problem as presented is the (total) number of tickets sold....

ANSWER: 10+20+80 = 110 tickets were sold
