Question 1036280: A toy store regularly sells all stock at a discount of 20% to 40% .If an additional 25% were deducted from the discount price during a special sale , what would be the lowest possible price of a toy costing 16$ before any discount? Answer by Aldorozos(172) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I like to reword the problem.
You bought a book for $100. You want to sell it after the semester and give 40% discount. Therefore you have to sell it for 100*60% = $60. Now you want to give additional discount of 25% to $60. Then you have to multiply 60 by 75%

The answer to the problem is 7.2
16*.6 = 9.6
9.6*.75 = 7.2
