I also imagine you must be in calculus and know this is an integral problem.
Thus, area A is found by
A = integral of (x - x^2) dx from 0 to 1
A = (1/2)x^2 - (1/3)x^3 from 0 to 1
A = 1/2 - 1/3 = 1/6 unit
