Question 938649: Hello,
I have been stuck on this problem for over an hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
A certain ore yields an average of 61% iron. How much ore is needed to obtain 1,220 lb of iron?
I know the answer is 2,000 but can't figure out how to get there.

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
61% yield
If you need 61 lbs you need to have 100 lbs of ore
to get 1220 lbs
you need 100/61 *1220 = 2000 lbs
