You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Sale cost of blender is 18 - 1/3 of 18 or (18 - 1/3(18))
Sales tax of 6% is 6/100 or .06
Therefore,
18 - 1/3(18) = 18 - 6 = 12 = cost
12 + .06(12) = cost plus tax
12 + .06(12) = $12.72 Jennifer will pay

Jennifer bought a blender for her mother. The blender was on sale for ⅓ off the marked price. The regular price of the blender was $18.00. How much will she pay for the blender, including sales tax of 6%?

Since itw's on sale for 1/3 off, she paid 2%2F3 of the regular price, or 2%2F3 of 18, which equals $12

Final price, with 6% tax = 1.06 * 12 = $highlight_green%2812.72%29
