Question 57249: Can someone help me on this pie chart?
I have a pie chart where the chart represents the eye color of students in a certain class.
Brown is 50%, Blue is 33%, and other is 17%
If there were 66 students in the class, how many students had brown eyes?
Thanks, Lyn

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If there are 66 students it is easily calculated into a percentage. If 50% of the students had brown eyes converted to a fraction it is 1/2
you can multiply the amount of students by the fraction and it will give you the number of students with the eye color.
so
(1/2)x66=33 students
you can also find the amount with blue or other colored eyes.
blue eyes fraction is 33/100 or 1/3 so (1/3)x66=22 students and 11 students with other colored eyes.
here are the list of numbers
Other=11 students
Blue=22 students
brown=33 students
