Question 234411: The perimeter of a rectangular driveway is 168 feet. The length is 12 feet longer than three times the width. What are the dimensions of the driveway?
I do not even know which formula to use to solve this problem. If someone could tell me how to begin I could probably figure it out.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"The perimeter of a rectangular driveway is 168 feet" ___ 2L + 2W = 168

"The length is 12 feet longer than three times the width" ___ L = 3W + 12

substitute for L to find W, then substitute back to find L
