Question 23180: We have an arguement here at work. The subject is the XBOX and the 50% failure rate. If the failure rate is 50% for each XBOX and I buy two XBOX's does that mean I still have a 50% failure rate or do have I lowered my chance of buying a bad XBOX to 25%?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The failure rate on each XBOX is 50%. The chance that you
would have two XBOX's that both fail is 25%.
The chance that you would have "at least one failure" if
you buy two boxes is 75%.
Buy one and pray.
