You can put this solution on YOUR website! You want to average at least 90% on your algebra quizzes.
So far, you have scored 93%, 97%, 81%, and 89% on your quizzes.
What must you score on your next quiz to have at least a 90% average?
:
let x = the score you need to average on the 5 quizzes
:
= 90
add up the scores, multiply both sides by 5
360 + x = 5(90)
x = 450 - 360
x = 90% required on the 5th test to average 90
:
Is it possible for you to raise your quiz average to 97% if only one more quiz is added?
Well let's see
= 97
add up the scores, multiply both sides by 5
360 + x = 5(97)
x = 485 - 360
x = 125, so obviously you can't get over 100, so the answer is No
