The 6 on the right side can be written as 6^1 (since anything to the first power is itself). So,

6%5E%282x%29+=+6%5E1


The bases are the same (6) so the exponents must be the same as well. Meaning that 2x=1 and we divide both sides by 2 to isolate x to get this final answer x+=+1%2F2
