Question 870526: Hello and thank you for your help beforehand! I've been stuck on this question for a little while now. I am asked to solve for x and the problem is 3 to the x+2=e to the 2x-1. Hope that makes sense and thank you again!! Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! the problem is 3 to the x+2=e to the 2x-1.
Assume it is
find the nat log of both sides
the log equiv of exponents
(x+2)ln(3) = (2x-1)ln(e)
find ln using a calc. the ln of e is 1
1.0986(x+2) = 2x - 1
1.0986x + 2.1972 = 2x - 1
2.1972 + 1 = 2x - 1.0986x
3.1972 = .9014x
x =
x = 3.547

Check this on your calc, replace x
3^5.547 = 443.2
e^6.094 = 443,2
