where 1 is less than x and less than y, is the answer positive or negative???

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Somehow stange since is always = 0
Also, use math notation instead of
"where 1 is less than x and less than y"
means 1 < x < y or (1 < x and 1 < y) ???
Note if 1 < x < y then < 1
