SOLUTION: I really need help solving this logarithm: 1/3log(subscritpt 4) x = log(sub 4) 4 First I moved the 1/3 and made it an exponent & simplified the other log: Log(sub4) x^1/3 = 1

Question 563854: I really need help solving this logarithm:
1/3log(subscritpt 4) x = log(sub 4) 4
First I moved the 1/3 and made it an exponent & simplified the other log:
Log(sub4) x^1/3 = 1
Then I switched the equation from a log to exponential form:
4^1 = x^1/3
Next I cube rooted both sides:
1.5874 = x
Now when I plugged x back into the equation the sides were not equal. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3log(subscritpt 4) x = log(sub 4) 4
--------
%281%2F3%29log%284%2Cx%29+=+log%284%2C4%29
%281%2F3%29log%284%2Cx%29+=+1
log%284%2Cx%29+=+3
x+=+4%5E3+=+64
--------------------
You took the cube root when you should have cubed.
