You can put this solution on YOUR website! I'm having trouble understanding Logarithm problems.
Please help me solve:
log3(x^2-5) = 2 + log3(x^2+8)
log3(x^2-5) - log3(x^2+8)=2
place under single log
log3[(x^2-5)/(x^2+8)]=2
convert to exponential form: base(3) raised to log of number(2)=number[(x^2-5)/(x^2+8)]
3^2=(x^2-5)/(x^2+8)=9
9x^2+72=x^2-5
8x^2=-77
x^2=-77/8
x=±√(-77/8)
