a logarithm is an exponent to which some base value is raised to yield the argument of the log
___ eg. logb(a) = c means b^c = a

since "common" logs are base10 , the logs of your numbers are just their exponents
___ if no base value is indicated , the logs are base10 by default

log(10^-7) = -7 , etc.
