Question 174243: Please help! I've been show the rules, but I don't know how to apply them, could you please show me how?
2. Convert the following equations into exponential form:
a. X = log3 8 (not sure how to type that the 3 is the the little base number)
b. -9 = log5 Y (not sure how to type that the 5 is the the little base number)
c. X= log6 Y (not sure how to type that the 6 is the the little base number)
d. 100 = log2 Z (not sure how to type that the 2 is the the little base number)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Convert to exponential form: Remember the basic definition of logarithm..."The logarithm of a number is the power to which the base must be raised to equal that number". In general, this looks like:
log%28b%2Cm%29+=+n--->b%5En+=+m
a) X+=+log%283%2C8%29--->3%5EX+=+8
b) -9+=+log%285%2CY%29--->5%5E%28-9%29+=+Y
c) X+=+log%286%2CY%29--->6%5EX+=+Y
d) 100+=+log%282%2CZ%29--->2%5E100+=+Z
