A very poorly formulated problem...!!

(1) The function is exponential; it is not

a%2A%28bx%29

It is

a%2A%28b%5Ex%29

(2) In the given ordered pair, the "-3" indicates the number of bacteria is the number 3 minutes ago. Not impossible; but unusual....

(3) In the given ordered pair, the "-2" indicates the number of bacteria 3 minutes ago was -2. That IS impossible....

(4) Two ordered pairs are required to determine an exponential function. There are an infinite number of exponential functions passing through any one point.
