In this video lesson I discuss the properties of logarithms and solve some simple examples problems. First, when two logarithms of the same base are added together, it is the same as taking the logarithm of the product of what's inside. This is similar to the rule of exponents, where multiplying exponents of the same base gives you the exponent with the sum of the powers. Similarly, when you subtract logarithms, it's the quotient of what is inside, and when you multiply by a constant, it's the same as taking the power on the inside of the logarithm. For more details on these properties and how to use them, watch the video!
