Question 808110: An aquarium holding African Chiclids is 4 inches higher than it is wide. It's length is 25 inches. It's volume is 8000 cubic inches.
The question is asking for it's width and it's height. This is the formula I have been working with, I just want to be sure that it's right, and see if I am missing anything:
(x) will be the width:
(x) (x times 4) 25=8000
25 times 2 times 100x= 8000
25 times 2 times 100= 8000= 0
25 times 2 times 8000 = 0
25 (x times 24) = 100 - 8000=0
24 (x=8) (x=16)
that's as far as I got.
Can you please help me with anything that I am missing? Thank you so much!
