Question 62703: Find the perimeter of a triangle that has the following sides: 4x + 1, 7x – 2, and 7x +1. Find the expression that represents its perimeter.
I have come up with P=(4x+1)+(7x-2)+(7x+1). I am not sure if this one is correct. The solution seemed to come to me too easy. I hope that someone can let me know if the way I set this one up is correct.

Question 64885: I wonder if anyone can help me solve this word problem. It's for my behaviorla science class, but was sondering if anyone out there knows how to figure this out.
There is a man who has a raft and cannot leave his dog, cat and mouse on the one side together. How does the man figure out a system for transporting each of the animals across the river without any of them getting eaten. He is suppose to take one at a time across and come back to get another.
You can put the cat on first and then come back and try and get the dog, but then when you go back to get the mouse the cat and dog fight. If you put the dog on first same thing. The only thing I can think of is to put the cat on first and then the man could put the mouse in his pocket and take the dog with him. Does that sound right? Or is there a way to solve this problem?
Lost.
Thanks, Sher

Question 65374: Write each expression in simplest form:
I believe I follow the same factoring for fractions which shows:
4*1*x and 4*2*4
5*1*x and 5*7
This would leave me:
4 and 4*2*4
5 and 5*7
giving me the answer of:
4(4*2*4)
--------
5(5*7)
Is this correct?

Question 65373: Write each fraction in simplest form:
-15x^3y^3
----------
-20xy^4
This is how I thought it should be done:
3*5*x*x*x*y*y*y
4*5*x*y*y*y*y
You cancel out the numbers that you can cancel which is 5 and then cancel out the letters that are equal which is 1 X and 3 Y's. This leaves you with the top efraction of:
3x^2 and the bottom fraction of 4y
The answer being :
3x^2
----
4y
Is this correct? Thank you for helping me out :-)
