Question 301973: One of the delinquency measures was the frequency of alcohol consumption of males and females at “Sunshine High”. Males (mean=2.23;standard deviation=1.59) had a slighter higher average consumption than females (mean=1.95;standard deviation=1.29). Perform a hypothesis test to determine if male and female students differ from one another in the population on alcohol consumption. Kreager surveyed 566 males and 551 females. Use a .05 level of statistical significance. Assume population variances are equal. Treat male students as population 1 and female students as population 2. The obtained t value is____________ .
