Two things to do:
First plus a minus is minus
19/22-1/2
Now convert 1/2 to x/22
1/2=11/22
19/22-11/22
8/22
4/11
All done.
BTW 4/11 is not a solution. It is a simplification.
Equations have solutions. This is not an equation. Nothing is equal to anything in the original 19/22+(-1/2)
