You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplify (3y – 2)(4y² + 3y –5)......thanks

Learn the pattern:

1st term on the left times 1st term on the right
1st term on the left times 2nd term on the right
1st term on the left times 3rd term on the right
2nd term on the left times 1st term on the right
2nd term on the left times 2nd term on the right
2nd term on the left times 3rd term on the right

(3y – 2)(4y² + 3y – 5)

1st term on the left is 3y
2nd term on the left is -2
1st term on the right is 4y²
2nd term on the right is 3y
3rd term on the right is -5

So,

1st term on the left, 3y, times 1st term on the right, 4y², is 12y³
1st term on the left, 3y, times 2nd term on the right, 3y, is 9y²
1st term on the left, 3y, times 3rd term on the right, -5, is -15y
2nd term on the left, -2, times 1st term on the right, 4y², is -8y²
2nd term on the left, -2, times 2nd term on the right, 3y, is -6y
2nd term on the left, -2, times 3rd term on the right, -5, is +10

So on the first step you have 6 terms because there were 2 terms on
the left and 3 terms on the right and 2x3 is 6.

12y³ + 9y² - 15y - 8y² - 6y + 10

On the second step you must combine like terms.

There is no other term like 12y³, so we just write it down.

The term 9y² and the term -8y² are like terms and they combine to +1y²,
or just +y²

The term -15y and the term -6y are like terms and they combine to -21y.

There is no other term like +10, so we just write it down.

Final answer

12y³ + y² - 21y + 10
